Terms of Attendance
By registering to attend the Chronic Illness & Immune Dysfunction Conference, an Interdisciplinary Approach to Complex Diseases for April 3-5, 2025 (the “Conference”), you (the “Registered Attendee” or “You”) agree to these terms and conditions. If you are completing the registration on behalf of another individual, you warrant that you have made the Registered Attendee aware of these Terms of Attendance and that he or she has accepted these terms and conditions. These Terms of Attendance are strictly enforced, apply to all Registered Attendees, and are without exception.
Registered Attendee Requirements
- Your registration entitles You to one admittance to the Conference, including for virtual attendance. Registered Attendees are not allowed to share their online access to the Conference with anyone else, including their login credentials. Multiple users are not allowed to access the Conference through one online registration.
- At time of check-in for in-person attendance, You must provide a form of photo identification.
- The Foundation for Total Recovery reserves the right, at any time and at its sole discretion, to modify, reschedule, postpone or cancel the Conference because of health or safety issues or other issues including, but not limited to, acts of God, travel or activity delays or cancellations, acts or omissions of government authority, compliance with government restrictions or regulations, force majeure, and any other cause or event beyond the reasonable control of the Foundation for Total Recovery that may impact the conduct of the Conference, the availability of speakers or other resources of the Foundation for Total Recovery or the host venue, the participation of the Registered Attendees, or the ability of the Conference’s organizers and participants (including the Registered Attendees) to travel within the United States. If such modification, rescheduling, postponement, or cancellation is deemed necessary by the Foundation for Total Recovery, then it will notify each Registered Attendee in writing. If the Foundation for Total Recovery decides to reschedule, postpone or cancel the Conference, any payments received will be credited as payments for a future conference. The Foundation for Total Recovery shall not be responsible for costs, expenses, penalties or rebooking fees that may be imposed as a result of the modification, rescheduling, postponement or cancellation of the Conference. The Foundation for Total Recovery strongly encourages Registered Attendees to purchase travel insurance to cover travel and registration expenses in case of an unforeseen cancellation.
Media Release
- You acknowledge that your image may be captured on video or in photos on behalf of the Foundation for Total Recovery during the Conference whether You attend the Conference in person or virtually. You grant the Foundation for Total Recovery and its assignees, licensees, agents and representatives permission to use your name, city, state, voice, likeness, comments, submitted documentation, and/or biographical information including, without limitation, as the same may be embodied in photographs, audiotapes, videotapes, movies or otherwise in which the Registered Attendee may appear in connection with the Conference, and any information obtained by the Foundation for Total Recovery relating to the Registered Attendee through the Registered Attendee’s participation in the Conference, without additional permission from the Registered Attendee, for marketing, publicity or educational purposes. The Foundation for Total Recovery may post photos and/or recordings on its official social media pages during and after the Conference. The Foundation for Total Recovery respects each Registered Attendee’s privacy rights in all personal information and identity and does not sell or give away Registered Attendee data or personal information to any third party, with the exception of exhibitors at the Conference.
- You may share your photos of the Conference on social media, but by sharing your photos of the Conference on social media, You are consenting to the Foundation for Total Recovery resharing, reposting and using these photos during and after the Conference in print and digital materials.
Prohibited Conduct
- Registered Attendees are expected to be considerate, open-minded and respectful; keep presentation content, discussions and questions focused on relevant topics; and respect the rules, policies, and practices of the Conference and the Foundation for Total Recovery (the “Expectations”). This is not a comprehensive list of Conference Expectations, and there may be other Expectations of Registered Attendees by the Foundation for Total Recovery.
- Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated at the Conference. The Foundation for Total Recovery reserves the right, without refund, to remove a Registered Attendee from the Conference whose conduct is deemed inappropriate, disorderly, or offensive. Unacceptable behavior, includes, but is not limited to, sharing your event registration information with another person; intimidation or bullying, either online or in-person; visual harassment; offensive or unwanted behavior or language; engaging in conduct that could endanger the safety of yourself or others, or cause damage to people or property; and any other illegal activity not already covered.
- The Registered Attendee agrees to abide by the relevant laws; not use tobacco, alcohol, nonprescription or controlled substances at any time during the Conference; conduct him/herself in a civil and respectful manner at all times; follow the instructions of the Foundation for Total Recovery staff; and abide by all rules of the Conference.
- Solicitation is not allowed inside the Kimpton Palomar Hotel (the “Hotel”), where the Conference is taking place, or outside the Hotel. Solicitation cannot take place on the online forum for the Conference. Registered Attendees who solicit will be removed from the Conference. However, Registered Attendees may exchange contact information and other information with each other.
- Use and reproduction of the Foundation for Total Recovery’s logo and the Conference logo to promote Non-Foundation for Total Recovery sanctioned products and services is strictly prohibited.
Information Sharing/Privacy Policy
- The Registered Attendee list, which contains the name and contact information for Registered Attendees, may be shared with exhibitors at the Conference. By participating in the Conference, You agree to the sharing of this information.
Health and Safety
- The Foundation for Total Recovery will follow the guidance of The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as it relates to COVID-19 and other communicable diseases along with state, local and venue requirements to meet safely.
- If You are not feeling well prior to or during the Conference, the Foundation for Total Recovery encourages You to participate in the Conference virtually.
- In the event of any injury requiring medical care throughout the Conference, You or your own personal health insurance will be responsible for payments of all medical costs. You agree that You are not covered by the Foundation for Total Recovery’s liability, medical and/or travel insurance and are responsible for obtaining your own. You agree to accept all financial responsibility for the costs related to any emergency treatment and/or travels.
- The Foundation for Total Recovery is not responsible for any items lost, stolen or left unattended throughout the Conference.
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- The Foundation for Total Recovery fully complies with the legal requirements of the ADA and the rules and regulations. If any Registered Attendee has a special need, please contact us at info@foundationfortotalrecovery.org.
Safety & Badge Requirements
- For the security and safety of Registered Attendees, Conference badges must be worn at all times. Conference badges may not be shared with anyone and must be picked up by the Registered Attendee and not a representative of the Registered Attendee.
Age Restriction
- For safety reasons, anyone under the age of 18 is not allowed to register or attend the Conference. Strollers or infant carriers are not permitted at any time. Only Registered Attendees are allowed to be present at the Conference.
Fees
- Payment is due upon registration. Registration is not processed until full payment is made.
- Taxes may be charged to you in addition to administrative fees.
- Once You have registered, there will not be any retroactive fee adjustments for any reason.
- There are no discounts or special rates.
Cancellation and Registration Policy
- Registrations made on or before December 31, 2024, may be canceled for a full refund of registration fees paid, less any administrative fees, or may be transferred to a future conference on a space-available basis if the request is made in writing no later than December 31, 2024. All transfers will be subject to increases in registration fees.
- Registrations made on or after January 1, 2025 until February 24, 2025 may be canceled for a 50% refund of registration fees paid, less any administrative fees, if the request is made in writing no later than February 24, 2025. All transfers will be subject to increases in registration fees.
- Registrations made on or after February 25, 2025 are non-refundable and non- Transferable.
- Should any payment not be processed and credited due to insufficient funds, credit card denial, or failure to remit payment on time, the Foundation for Total Recovery will deny registration unless the Registered Attendee makes successful repayment within ten (10) business days of written notice of such failure to remit payment. Should registration be denied, all previous payments made are non- refundable.
- Refund requests should be made in writing by emailing info@foundationfortotalrecovery.org. Refunds can take four to six weeks to process. Unless otherwise stated above, no monies shall be refunded to the Registered Attendee. The Foundation for Total Recovery strongly encourages Registered Attendees to purchase travel insurance to cover travel and registration expenses in case of an unforeseen cancellation.
Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability
- The Registered Attendee hereby releases, waives, discharges and covenants not to sue the Foundation for Total Recovery and its subsidiaries and affiliates, and each of its directors, officers, employees, agents, and representatives (the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever, directly or indirectly, arising out of or resulting in any injury, illness, loss, damage, liability, cost or expense, including death, arising out of the Registered Attendee’s participation in the Conference or any events incidental thereto, including the Registered Attendee’s travel from his or her home to and from the Conference, or arising out of, in connection with or resulting from any acts or omissions of any third party, including, but not limited to, any third-party vendors, contractors or suppliers who render services to the Foundation for Total Recovery in connection with the Conference. The Registered Attendee agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all costs, expenses, damages, claims, lawsuits, judgments, losses, and/or liabilities (including attorney fees) arising either directly or indirectly from or related to any and all claims made by or against any of the Released Parties due to bodily injury, death, loss of use, monetary loss, or any other injury from or related to the Registered Attendee’s attendance at the Conference.
- The Foundation for Total Recovery shall not be liable for any loss, damage or expense resulting from any activity delays or cancellations, acts of God, acts or omissions of government authority, compliance with government regulations or restrictions, force majeure or any other cause or event beyond the reasonable control of the Foundation for Total Recovery. Under no circumstance may any party be liable to the other for consequential or special damages, for any action for damages arising from a breach of warranty, or for any action, or class action.
- The Foundation for Total Recovery has taken and will continue to take all reasonable precautions to prevent against the presence and spread of COVID-19 but cannot and does not guarantee against exposure. In choosing to attend the Conference, You acknowledge that You are assuming a risk that You may be exposing yourself to COVID-19, a potentially life- threatening disease, and its potential health risks.
